Day 1:
We reported to our teacher-in-charge at Changi Airport at around 7am in the morning. We were very excited. Our tour guide was introduced to us her name was Mrs Ng. We bade farewell to our parents after that and checked in.
At around 9am we boarded the plane. The plane that we took to Australia was SQ223.
At around 9am we boarded the plane. The plane that we took to Australia was SQ223.
When we reached Australia, our driver, Mark took us on a city tour.
Right after that, we went to Kings Park And Botanic Garden.
After having a tiring day, we proceeded to check in to the hotel. It was called The New Esplanade Hotel.
After putting our luggage into our rooms, we went for dinner at a famous seafood restaurant.
Day 2:
Our morning call was at 8am so my roommates and I woke up at around 7.30am. We started our day by having breakfast at Aroma Café. Next, we headed back to our hotel room to get our backpacks and set off to Rockingham Regional Environment Centre. We learnt about the plants that grow in Australia. How insects help to pollinate flowers, what type of insects pollinate what flowers. In all, it was very useful to the science topic that we were learning. After touring around the place, we headed back to where we started. Waiting for Pauline to came, some of us grabbed the chance to go to the washroom. I got a great shock! Their toilet was totally different from ours in Singapore. Their toilet had no flush it was just a deep hole to allow bacteria to decompose the waste that we pass out.
After going to the toilet, we went back to the centre. Our animal guide showed us two animals. Bobtail and python.
After that, we headed to Cicerello’s Seafood Restaurent. Some of us ate on a boat while the other on land.
We visited the Fremantle Weekend Market after that. We were excited to see how Australians shop. Most of us bought souvenirs for our friends. Then, we went to the supermarket near our hotel and bought some snacks to eat in the hotel at night. Next, we went for dinner.
Day3:
Our morning call today was 8am. We went to the café that we went to yesterday. There, I made friends with the waitress. When she asked us where we were from, I told her that we were from Singapore. She said that she loved Singapore as it was a clean and green city. Right after breakfast, we set off to our next destination: Scitech Discovery Centre. We learnt about the gravity, the pull of forces etc. On the day that we went, an investigation exhibition was going on. We got to try the exhibit on display. It was very fun.
We had a great time at the Discovery Centre. Next, we headed for Caversham Wildlife Park. We got to feed the kangaroos. They were so cute!
We saw other animals too. Koala s, Kookaburra ,kingfisher, peacock etc.
Our final destination before heading back to the hotel was Margaret River Chocolate Factory. There, most of us bought lots of chocolates for our relatives. I ate an ice-cream cone. It was very expensive but it was worth it as the cone was delicious and large. That night, we had dinner in an Indian restaurant called Indah. We had lamb satay that night. Even though I did not like it, I still forced myself to eat it as we were suppose to try everything. One of my friend, asked me to eat the satay stick for her. I told her that before we came on this trip, we were told to try everything before we said that we did not want it but she did not even try! I even had to eat her vegetable for her while she did not even touch it. I was very angry as I felt that she was treating me like a garbage bin. I was ashamed of her and she should be of herself. What would other people think of our school?
Day 4:
Our morning call was 7.30am today. We were visiting St. Simon Peter Catholic Primary School. I had four buddies. I learnt how to do a boomerang and how to play Australian football.
Then, we departed for Springhill Farm. We went for a ride around the farm after putting our luggages into our room. We had dinner with rice, vegetables, and some meat. What I think that made me embarrass about is that one of my friends did not like to eat vegetable. We were suppose to eat everything and try everything! We had to coax her to finish at least some of her vegetable. We went stargazing at night. As it was very cold, our guide Roben started a bonfire to keep us warm.
Day 5:
